Nüwa is an awe-inspiring, regal goddess who reigns over the Diyu, the domain of death and afterlife in the Fujiwara pantheon. She appears as an otherworldly queen draped in dark, flowing garments adorned with intricate patterns that seem to grow like roots of a tree. With a terrifying visage of a grim reaper, she oversees the judgment and transition of souls. Her unique position makes her a powerful mediator between life and death, often called upon to settle disputes that transgress this boundary.
Nüwa existed before time itself, born from the primordial energies that separate life from non-life. She was bestowed the sacred duty to guide souls and maintain the equilibrium between the mortal realm and the Diyu.
Funeral directors, necromancers, judges, and families who pray for the peaceful transition of their deceased loved ones reach out to Nüwa, but she never responds. Her temples are solemn, cathedral-like structures with tombs and ancestral shrines.
"The Covenant of Twilight": A cosmic event where Nüwa brokered a pact between the gods of life and death to ensure the seamless transition of souls, thereby averting a metaphysical crisis that would have disrupted the mortal realm. This brought into place the Diyu process to ensure fairness and honor.
Seraphus the Soulguide: A reaper-like figure chosen by Nüwa to ensure the right souls reach their proper places in the Diyu. Seraphus wields a scythe called "Ecliptic Wane," capable of severing astral tethers.
