Path of the Toska
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Toska are vessels of profound sorrow. Their rage is not fueled by hate or wrath, but by grief so deep it scars reality. When they rage, it is a symphony of heartache - where screams echo like dirges and every swing of a weapon is a lament. Their enemies feel the weight of loss upon them, and their allies draw unexpected strength from the barbarian’s sorrowful resilience.
Toska Points (3rd Level)
You gain a pool of Toska Points, representing your inner anguish. You have a number of Toska Points equal to your proficiency bonus, which refreshes when you finish a long rest.
You can only spend Toska Points while raging.
At level 10 in this class, your Toska Points become double your proficiency bonus.
Sorrow Surge (3rd Level)
While raging, you can use a bonus action to unleash a Sorrow Surge. Spend up to 3 Toska Points to gain temporary hit points equal to 2 × the number of points spent × your Constitution modifier (minimum 2 HP per point).
These temporary hit points last until your rage ends or until you finish a short or long rest. You can use Sorrow Surge once per rage.
At level 10 in this class, you may spend up to 6 Toska Points when using Sorrow Surge.
Grief-Fueled Strikes (6th Level)
While raging, when you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 Toska Point to deal an additional weapon damage die as psychic damage.
You can only spend one point per attack, and may do this once per turn.
Beautiful Resilience (10th Level)
When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity or Constitution saving throw to take half damage, you can use your reaction and spend Toska Points equal to the spell’s level or the creature’s CR to instead take no damage on a successful save.
You can use this feature once per rage.
Solemn Wrath (14th Level)
Your anguish becomes a weapon in its own right. While raging and benefiting from the effects of Sorrow Surge, your melee weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19–20.
Additionally, when you score a critical hit, you can spend Toska Points (up to your Constitution modifier) to deal extra damage. For each point spent, roll one additional weapon damage die (not doubled).
You can use this enhanced critical feature once per turn.
