College of Flavor
Bards of the College of Flavor turn cooking into a performance, crafting magical meals that stir the soul and heal the spirit. They inspire not just with song, but with broth and bread. These culinary virtuosos bolster parties during rests, charm rulers at banquets, and bring joy to even the dreariest dungeon crawl. Their food is comfort, courage, and charisma on a plate.
Bardic Cooking (3rd Level)
You've learned to cook meals that nourish both body and spirit.
Cooking Proficiency. You gain proficiency with Cook’s Utensils. You can use them as a spellcasting focus, and you may flavor verbal/somatic components as culinary techniques.
Inspiring Meal. When you complete a Short or Long Rest, you can prepare a magical meal for up to 6 creatures. Any creature that eats it gains:
Temporary HP equal to your Bard level.
Advantage on the first ability check or saving throw they make before their next Long Rest.
Resistance to one damage type of your choice (from acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison) for 1 hour.
Bardic Bites. When you give Bardic Inspiration, you can deliver it as a bite-sized snack (sweet, savory, or spicy). The recipient can consume it as a bonus action, gaining the Bardic Inspiration die and one of the following effects (your choice when you make it):
Spicy Surge. +10 feet movement until the end of their next turn.
Sweet Relief. They immediately heal HP equal to your Charisma modifier.
Savory Focus. Advantage on their next concentration check.
Field Kitchen (6th Level)
You can cook almost anywhere - and your food starts doing more than feeding.
Quick Cook. During a Short Rest, you can cook a specialized dish that grants one of the following benefits to all who eat it:
Traveler’s Stew. Regain an extra Hit Die of healing (doesn’t cost a die).
Scout’s Jerky. +5 to Passive Perception and Passive Investigation for 8 hours.
Bravery Broth. Advantage on saving throws against being frightened for 8 hours.
You can create one type of Field Kitchen meal per Short Rest. Meals spoil after 24 hours if uneaten.
Signature Dishes (10th Level)
You perfect iconic magical meals that bring joy and power to the table.
Choose Two Signature Dishes from the following list. You may prepare one per Long Rest as part of a meal (10 minutes to prepare):
Hero’s Feast-Lite. All who eat it are cured of one condition (poisoned, frightened, or charmed), and gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed for 1 hour.
Thunderbread. A creature who eats this can shout a thunderous burst once within 1 hour (15-ft cone, creatures make Con save vs. your spell DC or take 2d6 thunder damage and be pushed 5 ft).
Misty Mushroom Soup. Once within 1 hour of eating, the creature may cast Misty Step without expending a spell slot.
Comfort Casserole. Anyone who eats this meal can reroll one failed ability check or saving throw within 1 hour. They must keep the new result.
You may prepare a second Signature Dish per Long Rest at level 14.
Chef’s Whimsy (14th Level)
With a flourish, you can conjure culinary magic at a moment’s notice.
Mealflash. As a bonus action, you can create and deliver a magical bite (no Bardic Inspiration required) to a creature within 30 feet. Choose one:
Adrenaline Snack. The creature can immediately take the Dash or Disengage action.
Focus Berry. The creature has advantage on its next saving throw.
Rage Jerky. The creature’s next melee weapon attack deals extra damage equal to your Bard level.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.
